11 THINGS TO LOOK FOR or QUESTIONS TO ASK! when selecting your next Real Estate Broker that will help you in handling your largest investment you have ever made or are about to make!
- How much experience do they have and how many transactions have they successfully closed? Number of seller's sides and buyer's sides?
- What have they done to better educate themselves to offer a higher and more qualified professional level of service to their clients? Or, are they only doing the "bare necessities" as required by state licensing requirements to get by?
- What specific accreditations, designations and/or achievement awards have they received, if any? Do they hold a Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE) designation, Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation; or Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR) designations?
- Can they provide a long list and reference history of past satisfied clients?
- Can they provide a long list and track record of outstanding results for both buyers and sellers?
- Have they had their real estate license and worked full time in the business for over 15 years?
- Are they experts with contract knowledge and purchase & sale contract addendums, to ensure you avoid contract failure, loss of earnest money and a potential lawsuit?
- What differentiates their negotiating skills from others? And what are they doing to keep this honed and sharpened with different market trends?
- What specific local market area are they specializing in? Are they a localized market expert or are they a jack of all local markets and therefore master of none?
- Do they have a "Managing Broker's License", or are they just a "Broker"? A Managing Broker's License is the highest awarded license Washington State offers to any real estate agent.
- What kind of personalized buyer and/or seller strategy plan are they going to implement around your goals to ensure your highest chances of success?
As a native to the Seattle area, I have a broad knowledge of the general Puget Sound region. I know the history, I have watched it grow and develop over the years, and I know the area very well geographically. To stay current with active home inventory, I am constantly touring homes and analyzing home values through detailed reports. I also regularly check absorption trends to anticipate where the local market is heading. I have watched the area cycle over the years and I know our local market very well.
